Do graphic designers have a future?

Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), there are more than 250, 000 graphic design jobs in the United States. However, the number of individual designers is expected to decline by around 4% between now and 2029. As the field of computer science continues to grow and change, so will graphic design. The main graphic design trends, such as card design, material design, adaptive design and single-page design, are determined by available technologies. While graphic designers use computers to produce digital versions of classic paper documents, this may change as computer interfaces evolve.

Instead of being tied to a desk, workers take their laptops home or design on the go from a coffee shop or library workstation. This is a new opportunity in which human participation is required to design and build interfaces for humans to use the AI products that exist and are being developed. Web design is difficult to master and many humans spend years of their lives training to be good at it. Nowadays, few things rank higher on a web designer's priority list than “responsive design” designs that adjust themselves according to the size and shape of the screen that the viewer uses, whether it's a desktop computer, a tablet, a mobile phone, etc.

People will have specialties, but I think we'll see more designers who handle not only traditional graphic design, but also user interface design, user experience design, and in recent years, flat design returned, but it seems to be returning, being replaced by three-dimensional designs and experiential graphics. By 2033, even this will seem clumsy and abrasive; user experience designers will be tasked with finding something more elegant than banal visual forms. Graphic designers must keep up with new and updated computer graphics and design programs, either on their own or through formal software training programs. As more machine learning features are added, it's important for designers to allow a smooth transition from cutting-edge features to a usable product.

With cold and hard data, it's easier to modify a design so that it has the greatest possible impact for the brand. Web designers weren't satisfied with this tool, but despite the hype, the product and designs weren't impressive and the company completely disappeared. However, people with a bachelor's degree in another field can receive technical training in graphic design to meet most hiring requirements. This accessibility will also lead to a noisier design landscape, which will result in a higher priority to creating disruptive work to eliminate that noise.

If you're a graphic designer today, the tools for creating graphic designs are abundant and even scary. These designers work with architects, industrial designers, landscape architects and interior designers to create interactive design environments, such as museum exhibitions, public art exhibitions, and commercial spaces.
